Five companies launch the ‘Work Style Consortium for 5 Years Later’ to promote and accelerate diverse next-generation work styles.

KabuK Style Inc., NEC Networks & System Integration Corporation, ii Office Inc., Pasona Job Hub Inc., and Lancers,Inc. have formed a consortium to begin discussions.

KabuK Style Inc. (headquartered in Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture, Co-Representative Directors: Kenji Sunada and Ryo Osera, hereinafter referred to as “KabuK”), NEC Networks & System Integration Corporation (headquartered in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Yoshinori Ushijima, hereinafter referred to as “NEC Networks & System Integration”), Ii Office Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Taito-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Hiroshi Ryuzaki, hereinafter referred to as “Ii Office”), Pasona Job Hub Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Koichi Morimoto, hereinafter referred to as “Pasona Job Hub”), and Lancers Inc. (headquartered in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Yosuke Akimatsu, hereinafter referred to as “Lancers”) have agreed to establish the “Work-style Consortium in 5 Years” (hereinafter referred to as the “Consortium”) to consider and support the “workstyle in 5 years” in anticipation of a future where the place and time of work will become diverse.

The “work-style reform” in companies so far has required “optimization of working hours,” such as setting a maximum limit on overtime hours and obliging the consumption of paid leave, with time management as the premise. Currently, an environment where location-free work is demanded, and the office and working hours have diversified, such as the social acceptance of side jobs (multiple jobs) and the introduction of telework. A variety of work environments and options that allow each individual to work in a way that suits them, such as excellent personnel working for individual proprietors or large companies, have become necessary.

In this consortium, we will comprehensively consider and provide the “place of work,” “place of stay,” “work,” and the environment and systems that support them to support human resource utilization tailored to various work-styles and a society where it can be chosen.

Through these efforts, we aim to optimize labor resources (talent sharing between regions and cities and companies, time sharing according to differences in busy seasons, etc.), reduce mismatches between opportunities to work for companies and individuals, and improve the quality of life (QoL) of individuals.

The significance of considering “work-style in 5 years” This consortium will continue to update the work-style of the future and create opportunities to realize “5 years from now,” which is not far away but a feasible challenge for social implementation. We also believe that it is necessary to take action now to reach the future we are currently considering “5 years from now,” and we plan to provide concrete, actionable solutions.

The future proposed by this consortium This consortium proposes a future where people who work for companies and individuals who work independently, a seemingly opposing relationship, can work together seamlessly and flexibly. In addition, we aim to create a society where each person can choose a work style that suits them, regardless of their individual circumstances, and where diverse values can be created.

<Social Issues to be Solved> Support for realizing diverse work styles and lifestyles for individuals who work as the main actors, as well as team building, business management, and project management that resonate with the company’s philosophy, mission, and vision to create businesses that contribute to solving social issues from a wider perspective.

The consortium plans to start a demonstration experiment in 2020 after specific discussions to solve these issues.

<Each Company’s Role and Cooperation Image> Each company that makes up this consortium will utilize their strengths to consider solutions from three perspectives: management tools for companies, places where people can work from anywhere, and fulfilling jobs, in order to create an environment where individuals employed by companies can challenge diverse work styles. The consortium plans to start a demonstration experiment in early 2020, and is also recruiting partner companies who can participate.

We will hold an event to discuss “Working Styles in 5 Years” as the first initiative of this consortium in March 2020. We plan to introduce the specific initiatives of this consortium and hold a talk event on “Working Styles in 5 Years.”
